My college studies were geared primarily towards the graphic arts and as a multimedia artist, photographer, and Photoshop enthusiasts, I would like to share my skills and creativity with fellow writers in creating unique and eye catching book covers.
I am an artist who has worked with a variety of mediums. In my youth, I studied at the Maseur Museum of Art and under the direction of other artists in the Monroe, LA area. In my early teens, I studied under Larce Holder at Cedar Creek in Ruston, LA, and earned my Associate Degree in Business Technology and Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies with an Art Concentrate from Louisiana Tech University. I returned to Tech to receive my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Education. I taught Art in the public school system for one year but found my niche teaching art classes with the military's Mental Wellness and Readiness program and with The Firehouse Art Gallery in Del Rio, TX, with NCLAC's Summer Arts Camps, and with The Seekers homeschool program, and in my own studios. I began painting gourds in 1992 while expecting my first son, Gray. Gourds are already very sculptural by their own design and I enjoy the weight and texture of gourds and the way they take paint and dyes.
